About Kristyl Nelson
Real Estate Developer. Global Operator. Builder of Institutional-Scale Assets.
Kristyl Nelson is a global real estate developer and operator specializing in luxury hospitality and mixed-use development across the United States, Caribbean, and emerging international markets.
As President & Global COO of Kindah Enterprises, she leads the full-cycle execution of multi-phase developments from capital strategy and site acquisition through construction management and asset operations, overseeing a team of 100+ and a $260M active development portfolio.
Across 15+ years in real estate, hospitality, and business operations, she has built and scaled ventures that generate measurable performance: reduced liabilities by 40%+, co-scaled a multi-location enterprise to $3.5M+ annual revenue per location, and operated hospitality assets ranked #1 in their markets.
Foundations
Kristyl was raised in Prince George’s County, Maryland, in a household shaped by both artistry and enterprise. Her father is an internationally recognized master pencil artist. Her mother — an economist and businesswoman.
That early environment gave Kristyl a direct education in how capital, operations, and creative vision work together. She began working in the family childcare business at 13. By 18, she had purchased her first investment property.
In 2003, she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, grounding her creative instincts in formal design and business training a foundation that would later inform her approach to luxury hospitality development.
Track Record
In 2006, Kristyl relocated to Negril, Jamaica to run The Palms Resort. As Operations Manager, she repositioned the property into one of the market’s top-ranked boutique resorts. She simultaneously launched and operated Kristyl’s International Restaurant, which achieved the #1 dining destination ranking on TripAdvisor for three consecutive years, a result driven by operational systems, team development, and market positioning.
She co-founded University for Kids, hand-selecting the leadership team that scaled it to four locations generating over $3.5M in annual revenue per location. This required navigating regulatory environments, building operational systems at scale, childcare facility licensing and maintaining consistent performance across distributed sites — disciplines directly applicable to multi-site hospitality and real estate development.
She has also partnered on 20+ multifamily real estate projects across the U.S., reinforcing her expertise in acquisitions, underwriting, and asset performance.
Current Development Work
Today, as President & Global COO of Kindah Enterprises, Kristyl leads the development and operation of large-scale luxury hospitality and real estate assets across international markets.
She oversees all operational functions — HR, IT, construction, branding, and investor relations — and is recognized for reducing liabilities by 40%+ and building high-performing, accountable global teams.
